Toe PressToe Press is an independent publishing collective started by Marcie Lewis and Tati El-Mallah. They focus on creating affordable options for artists to create their own publications, aiding them with editing and binding.

They also run workshops to create easy pathways for artists to bind their own books, and they have a big interest in community engagement projects.


Peckham 24 + A Bigger Book Fair + LCC (2026)Marcie has coordinated the London College of Communication table at Peckham 24’s A Bigger Book Fair. Working closely with students, they supported the development and presentation of their work while managing the practical and logistical elements of the project, from planning and transportation through to the installation and deinstallation of the space, ensuring a cohesive and professional public outcome.

Workshops + TeachingSince 2024, Marcie Lewis has been facilitating zine-making and creative workshops, delivering sessions across universities, arts organisations, and public programmes, including UAL, the RCA, Bow Arts, Turf Projects, Croydon Urban Room, etc.

Alongside this, they have lectured for photography students at LCC and led InDesign classes, supporting participants in developing both creative and technical skills through inclusive, collaborative, and experimental learning environments.




Dreamscapes (2025)Dreamscapes was an open studio exhibition and workshop programme, as part of the Splash & Grab Studios residency programme organised in partnership with Bow Arts. Curated by Hannah Geddes and Max Ferguson, in which ten early-career artists were given a free studio space in central London for six months.

Within this exhibition, Toe Press, run by Marcie Lewis and Tati El-Mallah, delivered a free zine-making workshop to over 100 members of the public throughout the day.
Ours (2024)550cm x 100cm handmade collage, constructed of 326 public domain archival images, printed on 100 gsm paper, and torn and cut to construct the final piece, on top of the base of 300 gsm card.
Ours explores how access to archives is controlled in the public domain and how power structures shape our current visual culture. These ideas are explored through a large-scale collage and publication, with all images used cited as an archival catalogue.

Who is in control? (2024)215mm x 300mm, Perfect Bound, 60 Pages, 90 gsm
A research project/dissertation exploring the concept of authorship and ownership within visual culture, through the use of the artist's laptop. A personal laptop was chosen as the medium to convey the narrative, using screenshots from the computer to enable the reader to follow the investigation as if they were conducting it themselves.
